Aaron CP8
On Thursday I went to the CIES building hoping to teach my culture class on the American news media. Unfortunately, Abdullah who was going to bring a few other students had to go to the hospital and no one showed up. I found two students in the lounge and they said they would like to attend, but their was no third student available. So I sat down with Muhammad and his friend(midway through the conversation I forgot his name and was too embarrassed to ask again) and had a long conversation. I had previously met Muhammad in the second week of TEFL classes and he seemed like a nice guy. I asked him how Tallahassee was treating him and he shrugged his shoulders and said it was alright. I could tell he was homesick and asked him if he missed Saudi Arabia and he said yes. Forgetting he was only 19( he looks like hes a lot older) I asked him if he was married. He laughed and said no and that he is only 19. I asked him and his friend what the typically age for Saudi males to marry is and they said about 25 to 30. Then his friend asked me what my class was about and I told them. I asked them if they watched the news, Muhammad said no but his friend said yes. He told me he preferred CNN. I told them I try to get my news from as many sources as possible. I asked them if they ever watched FOX News, and laughing told them how biased it was. His friends then said it was biased because its owned by a Jew. I was caught of guard by this, mostly because Rupert Murdoch isn't Jewish. I tried to tell them this but he was like "no I think he is". I told them that I was Jewish and they gave me an interesting look. After are conversation was almost over somebody came in and Turned on a soccer game. I then said goodbye and that it was nice meeting you to Muhammad's friend and he said he's going to try to make it to my class.

Did you have enough people to teach your class?? I know a lot of people were having a lot of trouble this last week finding enough people. Sounds like the best meetings happen by happen stance.
