Will Stone - CP 3

I tired calling Yasmina several times and left a voicemail before I was actually able to get a hold of her. She called me back and explained that she had been very busy getting her paperwork in order so that she could transfer from CIES into the FSU law school. We discussed arranging a meeting but our schedules were conflicted, so we decided to meet up periodically after her classes and before she had to work. We met up outside of the Eppes building on the benches. She was on the phone when I came up. Our conversation was very cordial, and consisted of me mostly asking how her week /classes had been. She said that everything had not been going as well as she would have liked. Yasmina delivered unsatisfactory news in the same tone that she used for other general conversations. The similar vocal tones for both positive and negative statements is the only indicator of her still learning English. Her pronunciation and vocabulary seemed advanced enough. In all of our conversations I felt like she could very clearly communicate with me and reciprocate in the conversation. She explained that she did not think that her classes were as difficult this session and that she felt she was not learning as much as she would like. I already knew that she was an advanced level student and Ramin did explain in class that often advanced students hit a plateau. I felt that Yasmina represented an interesting cross-section of upper level students in this regard. I was also impressed by how motivated she was to further her English language skills and the plan that she had laid out before her to achieve her goals. We had been talking for bout fifteen minutes or so before she received a call. After she finished talking she informed me that her roommate was on her way to pick her up and give her a ride to the law school to fill out some paper work regarding her transfer. I stayed with her till she was scooped and we agreed to try and meet at the same time on Thursday.
