Saturday
day night me, Sarah, Dhugal and some
other friends decided to go out and watch Ramin play with his Flamenco band at
Milano's pizzeria. I brought Cedric along because we had been trying to hang
out and I thought this was a perfect opportunity for him to get to know some of
the fellow TEFLers! He seemed really excited to meet everyone and we had A LOT
to catch up on, unfortunately it seemed that our schedules were constantly
clashing (Me gone one weekend, him gone the next etc). Since we had lost spoken
he had visited Tennessee with some fellow CIES friends, I personally love
Tennessee and couldn't wait to hear all about it. "So Cedric what did you
think of Tennessee?" He looked thoughtful "Well...it was boring."
I guess we have different ideas of an ideal vacation. I asked him if he liked the
mountains and what not, but he was really indifferent, he said the best part of
the trip was when they went to Memphis and checked out all the bars and
clubs...I think I will give it a go the next time I go there, I'm typically
with my family so nightlife isn't usually on my to-do list while I'm there.
| Cedric and I at Milanos |
The
atmosphere at Milanos was soooo relaxing and one person even said that they
felt like we weren't in Tallahassee anymore! I think me and Sarah were inspired
to make a band and Cedric said he would join too, he can apparently play the
harmonica, an instrument I've tried many times but have yet to master! Once the
night got rolling we all had some great conversation and Dhugal even taught
Cedric what a "bandwagon" fan was...but I think Cedric defended
himself pretty well, claiming to like his teams through thick and thin. We all
even danced a bit and Cedric wasn't afraid to show us some of his Salsa moves.
| Ramin jammin' with his band! |
After
Milanos Cedric and some others from TEFL went to a bar and played pool and hung
out, Cedric was a HIT with the group (particularly my work buddies from UPS)
and really showed off his pool skills...me not so much. He said he had a really
nice time and was happy to meet new people from different places. The whole
thing was a great experience for both of us and I'm glad we got to hang out
again.
Yeah, I hear that band rocks!
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun! And Ramin, I walked into my house yesterday to my roommate's boyfriend cookin up a storm and jammin to a "Maharajah Flamenco Trio" CD he had blasting through the house. What a moment!
