Austin CP-6 just gonna crank these out there

This time, me and Mohammad went to that old staple of American culture: CHILI's. I can't say I was that excited to go being that I work there and all. But that's what he wanted, and how could I say no. We split a giant basket of nachos, and started talking about our lives.

Mohammad wanted to know more curse words in English, and I wanted to know about curse words in Arabic, so we had an exchange of knowledge. None of these words can me mentioned in polite company (or on this blog), but suffice it to say I am now confident I could curse somebody out in Arabic. Mohammad still needs some work, but I'll have him presenting at The Apollo soon enough. I ordered a beer, as I am entitled, but Mohammad was only 19, so he didn't get one. I asked him if it was alright, or if he preferred, I could just drink soda, but he said it was fine. Then he asked me if I had ever gotten in trouble for having a fake ID. I said "I never had one, I just waited until my 21st birthday." Then he asked me if I knew anybody who could make him one, but then I shot that conversation down before it got started. Teaching is a noble profession after all.

I ordered a molten lava cake ( a chocolate cake with ice cream on top), which I gladly offered to share with him. He took one bite, and said " I don't like it." Neither did I like the Egg Cream I got him at Lofty Pursuits. Never have I known someone who disliked sweets as much as Mohammad. Maybe its just a cultural difference. Maybe he's weird. I don't know. I can only have so much middle eastern food before I crave some of my own.

On our way out of the restaurant, I decided to be courteous and hold the door open for my guest. He stood there, and stared at me for about 15 seconds. "Aren't you going to go?" I said. "No, you first" he replied. "You only hold the door open for girls" he said. "Usually, that's true" I said, "but I was just being friendly. Go ahead." He reluctantly went through. It never occurred to me that maybe this was an insult. I don't know. Maybe I still have a few things to learn about his customs.
