Ted Hong - CP5

For this session, I met Bustawan in the CIES breakroom. Kelly was also there with Rose and she suggested that we gather our men together and wage war upon the difficulties of English conversation. And that we did.

It was a nice little conversation and I imagine it was a little more fluid in speaking for Butsawan and Rose because of the natural feel of a group. Kelly was absolutely lively in this conversation. haha, too awesome. She did a series of well-performed accents to demonstrate that not all of English is spoken in the same fashion. Her enthusiastic nature certainly made everything easygoing, which made up for my worn out demeanor. "Skeered" is one word that Kelly brought up. "I'm skeered, pops. Don't you go bringin' me no mo' frito lays. They've got aliems in dem." She didn't say this... but I just did in my head. Most entertaining.

Anyway. We talked about bikes a bit because I am in the process of buying one.I told that I was trying to figure out what kind of bike would be best. There were road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids. We all had stories about some form of bicycle thievery happening in this here Tallahassee. A commonality. UNITE!

Somehow we got on the subject of dancing. I believe Rose asked if there were any "dancing" native to America. It was hard to think up of some but I came to swing dancing and ballroom dancing. I totally forgot about the European roots of ballroom dancing but I felt that swing dancing was quite right. There used to be (or it still exists, but I'm not sure) a swing dancing club. I remember wanting to suggest to the three of them to try that out. It is really fun.

Thanks for gathering us, Kelly! It was a good little chit, little chat we had!
