Kelly CP-9

On Tuesday I met with Rose, Ted and Butsawan for lunch. Rose insisted on taking us out to lunch somewhere on campus. After lollygagging around campus we decided to forgo Union food in favor or Krishna lunch. I told Rose and Butsawan that Ted and I were taking them on a wild goose chase and we attempted to explain this strange turn of phrase in words, and of course in showbiz!
On the way we answered questions on what buildings were meant for what. It was quite busy with new student orientation and very hot, so those topics took up a bit of conversation on our walk as well.
We enjoyed our food, and us girls kept commenting on the large portions. Rose was very kind and remembered that it is my birthday this weekend and she presented me with a small gift as a token of her gratitude for our time as conversation partners together. I was very touched. I don't think I have done too much, and in fact feel like I have gained a new friend out of the deal.
We talked a little bit about the soccer craze going on around campus these days. Ted was good enough to sit facing away from a television broadcasting whatever game was happening at the time. Us ladies just don't seem to get "it," but acknowledge that the frenzy overtakes (mostly) men in all our respective native countries.
As we left we commented on how full we were, and how we just wanted to take a nap. I felt bad for Butsawan and Rose as they apparently were about to have a debate in class! For those of us in the Krishna lunch know, active forms of behavior of any sort are next to impossible after that meal!
