Allison CP - 8

This past Thursday I met up with Joyce for some quality chit chat as always. It is really nice that we never have a lack of words to say to each other. Our topics can always flow quite easily and I'm certain she will do great on her nursing exam, which I learned will happen in August a few days after I leave for China.

Unfortunately for Joyce, she explained to me that it had been a pretty rough day. Her roommate and my friend, Faye, was supposed to go back to Taiwan today for an internship program. However, the airline had overbooked the flight so they would not let Faye get on her plane. They refunded the ticket but they apparently wanted to try and put her on a flight for the following day...with an additional cost of $700. Needless to say, Faye wasn't about to do that so she ended up just coming back to her apartment. (Update on that, she ended up flying out on Monday with an even cheaper flight than the one she had before even though she was a day or two late for her internship.) Joyce was quite worried for Faye and so we chatted about that for most of the meeting. This also sparked a mini convo on if I had purchased my airfare for China yet or not, which I haven't at the recommendation of my recruiter. The lady said it'd be better to wait until we have all the visa documentation in order. Meanwhile, PRICES ARE RISING and Allison weeps at this. Yes, I just used the third person. Get over it.

We chatted about her nursing exam. She found out that she will take it in late August so she still has plenty of time to study. She still seems worried about it. I think she'll do splendidly. We also may or may not have discussed Ted's Epic Meal time and the ideas he'd shared with her on what he might make. Oh snaps.
